Kuala Lumpur Youth Soccer scored nine wins to retain the under-16 AirAsia KL Junior League Season B. The KL lads topped the table with 27 points despite two losses during the four-month competition which ended last month.
Newcomers Malaysian Indian Football Association-Shah Alam Soccer Youth Academy (MIFA Sasya) made heads turn when they finished runners-up, only a point behind the champions. They had eight wins, two draws and a loss to Kuala Lumpur Youth Soccer team.
MIFA-Sasya chairman T. Indran said they were satisfied with the performance of the team in the league.
“My boys gave their best but the loss to Kuala Lumpur Youth Soccer and two draws affected their standings,” he said.
Indran added they are planning to give the team an incentive for their commendable performance.
He said the team had assembled for training since last year and participated in the football competition of Sukan India Malaysia which was organised by the Malaysian Indian Sports and Cultural Foundation in Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris last July.
