SHAH ALAM: Police detained three male students last night on suspicion of beating another male student, last Friday.
South Klang police chief ACP Shamsul Amar Ramli said the three, in their late teens, were detained at two separate locations, in Port Klang and Telok Gong, Klang near here. at about 8pm.
“One of the three detainees was released on police bail. Upon interrogation, two of the students admitted to being involved in the incident and we also seized a smartphone belonging to one of them,” he said in a statement here, today.
Shamsul Amar added that the two students, aged 16 and 17, were remanded for four days until Saturday to assist with investigations.
“The case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code for deliberately causing hurt,” he said.
In the incident last Friday, a Form Two student was beaten up by two other students after being accused of harassing a female student at a high school in Klang.
A video footage of the incident which was then circulated on social media showed the victim being beaten and kicked by the two students, while several others witnessed it.
The victim received outpatient treatment at the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang for minor injuries. — Bernama
