JOHOR BARU: The Customs Department is expected to collect RM60.96 billion from the Goods and Services Tax (GST) in 2018, an increase of 4% over last year’s figure.
Customs Director General Datuk Seri Subromaniam Tholasy said it had collected RM44.03 billion in GST in 2017, he said this after attending the National meeting of States Custom director here today.
The amount collected from GST made up 75% of the total collection of various taxes by the department.
The national meeting was officiated by Johor financial officer Datuk Abdul Rahim Nin.
