Man beats brother-in-law to death for waking him up

A MAN beat his brother-in-law to death with a broom and an umbrella for disturbing his sleep.

The 69-year-old aggressor, who had been staying at the brother-in-law’s house in Ipoh for the past month, got upset after the victim woke him up at 2.15am on Wednesday and tried to throw him out of the house, reported Harian Metro.

Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Ali Tamby said the suspect then lodged a report claiming he and his grandchild were injured after being hit.

But after questioning, he confessed and brought the police to the house, where a body was found lying on the floor, said Asst Comm Mohd Ali.

He added that both men had been at loggerheads ever since the suspect moved into the house.

The wife of a man who died after his Mercedes Benz collided with a Kawasaki Versys motorcycle near Kota Tinggi said her spouse had premonitions of his impending death.

“We were chatting on Tuesday and he said that he felt there were signs he would die soon.

“I thought it was just idle chit-chat,” said Ruzila Md Shariff, 54.

Her husband Sariff Abdul Karim, 73, who was the chairman of a cooperative, died the next day.

Ruzila said she and Sariff recently had the same dream about a crowd of people coming to their house, which prompted their conversation about who would die first.

Singer Sarah Suhairi will be shelving her plans to pursue a degree at Universiti Teknologi Mara in Perak to concentrate on her career, Kosmo! reported.

Instead, she will pursue a diploma in quantity surveying as the schedule allows her to keep singing.

Sarah, 18, is currently taking part in the reality TV show Big Stage on Astro.

“To be honest, I felt small compared to the other contestants. But the situation prompted me to give my best,” she said.
