KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein (pic) has personally offered to help go after Low Taek Jho until the “end of earth” and bring the fugitive businessman back to Malaysia to face the music.
The former defence minister said he would use his previous contacts and links with the Chinese government and friends to try and bring back Jho Low if he is in China.
“I think all Malaysians want to know the truth. So we need to bring him back to face justice.
“It has nothing to do with whether you are from the opposition or the government. This is about justice,” he said at the Parliament lobby.
Council of Eminent Persons chairman Tun Daim Zainuddin also claimed that moles within the Malaysian government was among the reasons why it was difficult for Malaysia to pin down and arrest Jho Low.
Hishammuddin said Jho Low was a key person in the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) case and that it was only appropriate for him to come back and clear his name.
“I will do my utmost to bring him home so that the 1MDB case can see a closure. Then, only the country can move forward,” he said.
Asked if Putrajaya had sought his assistance, Hishammuddin said it was his personal offer.
“I will continue with my efforts. I am not bound or requested by anybody. This is a complex issue. Nobody here can prove his direct involvement.”
